THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU WANT EXTRA FOOD:
🍎 Focus on what your stomach feels like. Are you actually, physically hungry? If you are, go drink a big cup of hot tea. If you’re not, have some water and tell yourself:
- I am not hungry.
- My brain thinks I’m hungry, but trusting my brain’s instincts is what got me this fat in the first place.
- I don’t even want food right now.
- What I really want is to be thin, and I’m not gonna be thin if I eat.
🍑 If you’re at home, go stand in front of the mirror and look at your arms. Your thighs. Your neck. Do you feel good about yourself? Do you really want to eat?
🍊 If you’re in public, look at your hands. They should be slim and dainty, but they’re not, are they? And your wrists are so thick and gross. Are you still hungry? You can have such nice hands if you just don’t eat.
🍒 Take a walk. You can eat one calorie for every 10 minutes you walk. Really. Go walk 47 and a half hours straight, and then you can have that slice of pizza.
🍓 Imagine what you’ll look like at your ultimate goal weight. Imagine looking at yourself in a mirror, a few months in the future. You can see each rib clearly. You can circle your thumb and your ring finger around your wrist easily. Your collarbones are so delicate and prominent. All that can be yours if you just resist this one meal.
🥝 Count down to your next mealtime. When is it? How many hours until then? Two? Five? Twelve? That’s not so long, you can get there! Even if it’s a hundred hours, you can get there! Just take it one minute at a time. Count to sixty until you get to your next meal. That’s a little boring, though, isn’t it? You know what would be more fun? Reading that book you’ve been thinking about. Listening to music and dancing. Texting your friends. You should go do those things, and just forget all about your hunger! You’ll be able to eat soon enough.
🍉 Take a picture of your stomach. And then the flab on your arms, and then the extra weight on your thighs. Keep taking pictures and looking at them until it sinks in that you have to lose this fat.
🍇 How many calories is the thing you want to eat? How long will it take to exercise it off? Forty minutes? An hour? Four hours? Well, go do all that right now. If you want food, you have to work for it. If you really do manage to burn off the equivalent calories, then you can have a choice: get even skinnier tomorrow than you thought you’d be, or eat that food. It’s up to you.
